Trips
Here are some popular trips. You can always choose your own route with Hilara captains.
Trips are approximately 190 €/hour, but the more miles, the cheaper hours.
Tartu from Ihaste to Kvissental
Even many native Tartu residents are surprised to see what Tartu looks like from the water. The outskirts of Tartu offer the joy to discovery both upstream and downstream, passing through places that are difficult to reach by land. The ideal duration of a Tartu tour would be two hours with ports, beaches, the city center and residential areas on the way. At night, Tartu is an unrivaled sight when illuminated.
Luunja
A one and a half hour boat ride from Tartu is the modern river port of Luunja, with a rose garden and the Sadama pubi restaurant within a short walk. Luunja is a great destination if you want to spend a few hours on the river and take a walk, dine, swim or fish in between.
Piirissaar
Located a few hundred meters from the Estonian-Russian control line, Piirissaar is an exotic travel destination. Hilara can travel there from Tartu, Emajõe Suursoo Center or as a quick option - directly from the opposite shore from Laaksaar. Officially, with only thirty-five permanent residents, the island is bustling with life in a mix of Old Believer, Orthodox and Lutheran communities. The boat ride from Tartu to Piirissaar takes six hours, from Emajõe Suursoo Center three hours and from Laaksaar one hour. Two-day trips to Piirissaar can be organized, in which case we can help with finding accommodation.
Lake Peipus west coast ports
With the funding of international projects several ports have been built on the shores of Lake Peipus. These are inferior to their Western European counterparts only in terms of traffic density. When traveling on Lake Peipsus, both in the north and south directions, you can feel like an explorer on unpredictable waters, while the shore is still visible to the eye. The lake, which covers an area of 2,600 square kilometers, is navigable on Estonian territory from Rannapungerja to Värska.
